Organizing a cake smash party is about creating lasting memories to make a perfect birthday celebration. So you’ve decided to throw a cake-smashing party for your child’s upcoming birthday. Smash cakes are fun (and messy!) and go along with adorable smash cake photos. We’ve compiled a list of ideas to help you make the most of your smash cake photo session.

Every detail of your big day should be meticulously planned, from picking out the appropriate colors, theme, and backdrop to creating the perfect cake. Here are some tips and ideas you need to know.

Background

Start your arrangements by planning and arranging your background. The first thing you should take a look at is your floor. Floors made of wood, tile, or marble are the best for cleaning. If your carpet or a rug covers the floor, you should arrange an alternative for cleanup. In this case, you can use plexiglass or a decorative mat. One more thing you can use is high chairs for minimal mess. However, placing the infant and the cake on a level surface gives them free rein to produce absolute shambles. Isn’t that what cake smash is all about?

Once you’ve covered the floor, look for a backdrop with a soft light source. By placing a curtain in between, you may avoid it. I suggest not using reflective balloons and embellishments to avoid flash reflection during photo shoots.

Prepare your child for the dug.

A few days before the session, make your child feel at ease, as children aren’t always the same. Use some dummy cake or cupcake cake to make them comfortable. Not all children seem interested in letting them taste by putting their fingers in the frosting and having them taste it. To let them know what they are dealing with. When they’ve finished that, they’ll begin digging themselves out.

The wow factor may be achieved by using a three-layer cake. Remove the cake from the refrigerator 30 to 45 minutes before your session to allow the icing to soften. When the cake is cold, the frosting may stiffen and become more difficult to rip through for the smashing stage, depending on the type of frosting used.

Arrangement for Photographs

First birthday cake-smashing photos are a gorgeous disaster in and of themselves. In addition, to bring out the colors. In this case, the primary focus may be coordinating (Cake or Dress). Next, begin to add colors that match that object.

Try to work with soft light for better results.
